The time it takes to finish your website depends on what kind of service we are providing for you. If you have purchased a theme package, we can have your site on the web in as little as two days. If we are designing and building a custom website, the process can take anywhere from 2 – 5 weeks.
Included in our monthly fees are several features, and depending on your monthly package, these can include hourly updates (the amount of time that we allot to updating your website for you), hosting fees, domain renewal fees, server updates, customer support via phone and email, access to online tutorials, email storage, and more depending on the client’s contract.
Yes. Contracts are a necessity in the web industry. Our contracts clearly outline the scope of work that we will perform for you.
Absolutely. We have already switched over many customers from other web providers. We can tell you exactly what information we need from you and your existing provider to ensure a smooth transition.
No problem there! We can point your name servers at our servers and get your website up in no time. Just make sure to pay your yearly domain renewal fees.
We have several clients that actually prefer us to do this instead of having control of the site. Maybe your days are packed with giving lessons or you’re in meetings all day and don’t have any time to dedicate to your website. We’ll set up a monthly package where we will update your website with any information that you can send to us in an email.
We know what it’s like to be there for your members and customers. We value those relationships, and that is what we bring to the web; great customer service. You can always reach us by e-mail or phone. We also offer support through our online tutorials, making it as easy as possible for you to find the answers you need.
Yes. Check out our logo section and see the logos that we have created for our customers. Upon request, we also create business cards, brochures, flyers, banners, and other promotional items for our customers. We have helped to launch new businesses and have given them professional marketing materials.
If we had purchased your domain name, then yes, the domain is yours to keep. There could be a domain transfer fee, depending on how your account is structured. The domain will be transferred as long as their are no outstanding invoices on your account.
The websites files are yours to keep in an XHTML format.
Many web design companies are difficult and complicated to work with. We know, because we have worked with many of these companies for a long time. Our vision for Golf Web Design sprung from many of the same frustrations you may have had when dealing with the “web world”. Many web design companies control your site, and when you need information updated, added or deleted it can take up to a few weeks (and a couple hundred dollars) to get those changes to take effect. We want to give you control of your website, but also offer you the option of our professional support services.
Very minimal. We always tell our clients “If you have used Microsoft Word then you can update your website”. With our easy to use content management system – all you have to do is log-in and start typing! We will give you access to our online tutorials that walk you through the set-up process and teach you how to add text, pictures, and video to your website.
All of our sites are built with a CMS (content management system), which means you can add photos, videos, text all from your own computer or smart phone. It is as easy as writing a Microsoft Word document. You have the option of adding your own pictures, colors, menu items, and even some cool dynamic elements like featured videos and pictures. You can even link YouTube videos to your site and update your web pages right through your cell phone!
The idea behind Content Management Websites is keeping the content fresh. You want people coming back to your website as much as possible. You might want to offer a rainy day discount, show pictures from that day’s Junior Camp, or tell everyone about a tournament that was just added to the schedule.
Having your own domain name not only looks professional, but makes it easy for your site to be found! Many of our clients use their own name as the domain. These are just a few of the examples that people have chosen. It’s OK to have a couple domain names too – these can all be linked to the same web site so your customers can find you faster. Here are a few examples:
www.galepeterson.com
www.jackgalepga.com
www.littlelinksters.com
www.oberlingc.com
Hosting is like a parking spot for your website. Just as if you would rent a parking spot to park your car in a parking garage, you pay a fee to “park” your website on a company’s server.
Social Media is an umbrella term that defines the various activities that integrate technology, social interaction, and the construction of words, pictures, videos, and audio. In one sentence, social media is people having conversations online.
The past few years have brought on a serious change to the web. More websites have user generated content, social networking sites are becoming increasingly popular, blogs have almost eclipsed standard news websites, and user created communities are becoming popular places to find answers for obscure questions.
Let’s say for example a golfer has just moved into your town. He logs onto Google and searches for “golf professional” or “golf teacher”, you want YOUR name to come up, right? You want that business and that relationship. That is where SEO comes in. Getting your site recognized by search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing is your first priority. Then you want to come up on the first page when users type in certain keywords. This is no easy chore. That is why SEO can be a very important part of your marketing plan. Companies spend thousands of dollars each month to ensure that their pages stay on top of the rankings for certain keywords. If you are interested in gaining a lot more traffic to your website through search engines, then SEO is the perfect way to achieve that.
Absolutely, we do websites for all kinds of business! Visit our main web development website AO Studios to learn more.
